LD-12 Assembly Candidate Freshta Taeb Speaks at “Good Trouble Lives On” Rally in Old Bridge

LD-12 Assembly candidate Freshta Taeb, a dedicated advocate for affordability, veterans, and putting our communities first, was a featured speaker at the Good Trouble Lives On Rally on Thursday, July 17 in Old Bridge. The event was part of a nationwide day of action marking five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, honoring his legacy by encouraging voting and civic engagement among communities.

The rally took place from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM and continued the legacy of “good trouble” by inspiring communities to take action in local politics, inspiring engagement and change. Taeb spoke about the power of grassroots organizing, the stakes of the upcoming election, and the need for effective leadership in New Jersey.

“John Lewis did not whisper through history — he walked through fire with dignity, held the line with love, and made ‘good trouble’ feel like holy ground,” said Freshta Taeb, Assembly candidate for New Jersey’s 12th Legislative District. “His courage did not shout; it stood. And in that stillness, a movement bloomed.”

“Old Bridge and our neighboring towns are proud to rally together to continue the fight for our democracy in honor of Congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis on the next nationwide day of action,” said a spokesperson for the Old Bridge Democratic Club. “Freshta Taeb has long been a champion for the immigrant and refugee community, and we’re honored to have her speak to the spirit of the day.”
